Fabio Novembre - Eur and Lantern

Fabio Novembre and his ironic and visionary style will be featured on Monday 15 January 2018 at a special exhibition dedicated to the designer at our Cologne Flagship Store on the occasion of IMM Cologne. Three new products will be the focus: the EUR stool, the Lantern lamp and the Componibili Smile, a playful reinterpretation of the icon created by Anna Castelli Ferrieri.

The designer’s creativity, vision and irony combine with Kartell’s ability to create high-quality and technologically innovative industrial products. Fabio Novembre’s three new products epitomise this unique synergy and are sure to become new lifestyle icons of the brand, which uses the Cologne stage to pay tribute to this new partnership.

New 2017 finishes

In addition to the new products, Kartell is presented a few new versions of its best-sellers, reinterpreted with new finishes and new colours, in line with the Kartell philosophy that focuses on innovation and the continuing development of ideas, technologies and materials.

Kartell is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Componibili, one of the brand’s most iconic objects and absolutely the best and longest seller since 1967, the year it debuted at the Milan Salone del Mobile. To pay tribute to this important anniversary, the new colour versions of burgundy, military green and petrol blue are available, and they enrich the wide range of Kartell Componibili. A new version with four elements that completes the offer of two- and three-element versions is also being presented.

A new line of accessories for Spring and Summer 2017

Kartell à la mode and Paula Cademartori

The irresistible appeal of an explosive, playful and ironic femininity has inspired the bag and shoe collection born of a collaboration between Kartell à la mode, the Kartell division dedicated to the production and marketing of fashion accessories, and designer Paula Cademartori of Italian-Brazilian origin. This partnership has led to the creation of two product lines, both inspired by the exotic nature of Brazil with its brilliant colours and a floral theme: a choice that fully expresses such values as the use of colour, stylistic research and attention to detail shared by the two brands.

Parati and Claudia

Parati entirely played out in plaited motifs, is made from injection moulded plastic and presented in four colourways: tones of black, optical white and grey are teamed up with more assertive notes of colour, from pink to purple and orange. On one side, two hands joined in the shape of a heart recall the theme of universal love, while authentic and very special reproductions of peonies, buttercups, orchids, anemones and dahlias in different shapes and colours take us back once more to the distant atmospheres of exotic countries.

Kartell is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Componibili

Kartell is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Componibili, one of the brand’s most iconic objects and an outright long time bestseller since 1967, the year it was first launched at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

To mark this important anniversary, Kartell is presenting a special installation titled “The Design Towers” at its flagship store in Paris, from 20 to 24 January 2017. Featured alongside the Componibili, there will be other “cornerstones” of the Kartell world, such as La Bohème by Philippe Starck, Sparkle by Tokujin Yoshioka, Pilastro by Sottsass, Stone by Marcel Wenders and Optic by Patrick Jouin.

Originally presented under the name of “mobili 4970/84”, the Componibili represented an absolute novelty for the company and made design history with an original approach that associated design with plastic materials, born of the creativity of Anna Castelli Ferrieri, wife of founder Giulio Castelli and one of the first designers to have elaborated the concept of modularity.

Take a seat, relax and enjoy

Another brand new model coming out in 2016 is the Largo, a sofa system with various possible con gurations that offers solid support and a linear design thanks to its wide cushions. This product is rendered particularly special by the textiles research that went into it, representing a new eld of development for the Kartell Soft collection. In fact, the Kartell Soft catalogue has now been completely updated with a broad choice of fabrics (cotton, linen, tre- vira) both in plainer versions and patterned and graphic models (various oral patterns, houndstooth, stripes) for the indoor models of the Pop, Pop Duo, Plastics, Plastics Duo and Trix by Piero lissoni and the Foliage by Patricia Ur- quiola.

In addition, the Pop Outdoor collection has various new textile variants in both its basic and striped versions. Today, the world of upholstery is not just a stylistic experiment for Kartell. Rather, this sector has been honoured with a dedicated catalogue and a collection of fabrics that have been carefully designed to adhere to the company’s style. Designed by Piero Lissoni, Largo is a linear, generously proportioned sofa system offering various configurations.

New - Piuma

The most thin, light and durable industrial chair in world, 2 kg x 2 mm

A Piero Lissoni design

2015 saw the completion of the "Piuma" project by Piero Lissoni. The chair is one of the most revolutionary and enterprising products in Kartell's repertoire of technology and materials.

Two years of intense research went into creating the hitherto untried blend of carbon-filled plastic that lies behind the Piuma's simple design. This is a compound that comes from completely different sectors of the industry - automotive and aeronautics - and was therefore completely unprecedented in the world of furnishings.
